When Karon first emailed me it was quite a funny story and awkward scenario.

I honeslty thought Karon was a guys name and her soon to be fiancé Sharon is a girl. I am so glad Keron made it clear to avoid a uncomfortable conversation when we first meet.

Keron and Sharon are from Ireland both practicing in the medical field. They came to South Africa for an Holiday and to celebrate a wedding with there close friends, But most importantly they came to have a Cape of Good Hope engagement session with me.

From our early planning stages we knew we needed to incorporate a coastal environment. As keron and Sharon were stating, that Ireland is 905 of the time cold and raining. The needed a shoot that was filled with happiness, sunlight and a warm look and feel. That is why an Cape of Good Hope engagement was such an awesome idea.

Leading up to this shoot we were having a lot of fun, we had a little road trip and stopped at the Navy museum in Simons Town were we took a quick little tour. In the end when we started shooting the Engagement we ran into some challenges. When we arrived at Cape of Good Hope it was clear sky and very sunny. Then all the sudden, right in front of our very eyes a South Cold front came in and it was quite scary to see a scene turn so quickly dark and cold. We ended up shooting on the misty mountain. This had a huge effect and we needed to shoot the next day early morning to get the sunshine images.

To Keron and Sharon, thank you for being awesome and thank you for the lovely engagement shoot, I wish you guys a very safe and prosperous journey back home with a Ever after wedding. Your friend and Photographer Riaan West
