Jose Villa Workshops | A Fresh Start | Wedding photographer
I would like to share something about the Jose Villa Workshops and the incredible influence Jose Villa, His team and the attendees have had on me.
THE GIFT OF JOSE VILLA AND HIS TEAM
One major highlight of the entire Jose Villa Workshops for me was the Gifts we received each day, They were in all different shapes and forms. Strangely enough, they were also clues and hidden messages of what was to be expected. Certain gifts were a memory from the previous 10 year workshops.
The image attached is a couple of the gifts to give you sense of what we experienced. One thing about Jose Villa is His incredible touch on presentation and how he makes you feel. Thank you Jose for this wonderful experience.
On the first day, all the attendees received a gift platter in our rooms (on the bed) and each day the gifts came differently, from workshops tables to event dinners and much more.
THE REAL GIFT
As special and precious as these physical cute little gifts were, the real gift was hidden and to be discovered within each of us.
What is this True Gift?
For me the true gift is the following, and this was unleashed from all the Guest speakers, Joel Serrato, Mar from Team hair and make-up. Brandy and Rebecca (Duet Weddings), Elan from Richard photo lab and so many more.
- Who are you going to be as a photographer?
- Are you going to remain Humble, Authentic and real?
- Are you going to be inspired and be an inspiration to others?
The Jose Villa workshops was so inspiring and covered so many topics, for example, Growing your business was one of them. Thank you Jose Villa for the greatest gift you could ever give me, the ability to remain humble, real and be the best person I can possibly be.
PLAN FOR GROWTH
Several years ago I read John C. Maxwell’s book, Plan for personal Growth. John said something very interesting. Most people attend a life changing event and it has a very little effect on them. Some people have no goals, a focus or a clear plan and a life changing event is only momentary. After a life changing event you should take action and immediately start to implement some change.
Family members and close friends who know me well, know that i love growth, self development and improvement in all areas of my life. I keep a journal to this day and love to write about, the person i want to be, the things i want to achieve, the people i want to meet and the experiences I want to have.
OLD AGE WISDOM
Think about this. One Day when you are in your Old age and on your death bed, and you get the chance to look back at your life, how would it look like? Did you follow your dreams? do you have any regrets? Did you meet your mentor and people who aspire you to greatness? Do you strive to be the best person you can be?
REFLECT, NUMBER YOUR DAYS
David Pawson (Well known Biblical author of several books, Unlocking the Bible) often goes to the graveyard to number His days and to reflect. He says a wise person will look at His life and think. where am i headed, i’m a year older, in which areas have i grown or need to grow, have i spent my time wisely. Did i do the best i could do?
With this in mind. I want to share the following with you.
This is my favourite time of the year, i often take a week to journal and reflect on th year that has just gone past. I think about every aspect of my life. How am i doing financially, how is my relationship with my family, have i spent my time wisely? did i travel to much or to little? How is my relationship with God? Am I exercising enough? eating fresh food?
THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF LEARNING JOSE VILLA
In closing I want to leave you with a final thought and thank you. Take time this year to reflect on your life and your business or work. Ask yourself some hard questions? Take stock of your life and never stop learning and growing as a person.
To Jose Villa and the 2016 Jose Villa Workshops team, Thank you for the gift of learning and growing and inspiring me to be the Best I can be. I am very grateful and humbled for all the life lessons and hidden gems.
