LEANDRA + JAQUES | TV SHOW WEDDING
I was privileged earlier this year to take part in a new TV Show, Pas Getroud. A TV Show to inspire future brides. The beautiful couple, Leandra and Jaques, is part of the Pas Getroud Show and it was an amazing experience to work with them. We conducted an interview which focused mainly on wedding photography.
We had a great success with Leandra and Jaques’ engagement photos, which helped a lot with the TV Show Wedding’s photos. Leandra and Jaques wanted very creative photos from the beginning, and it was very easy to compile ideas for the photos with the help from Leandra, who is a designer herself. This led to beautiful artistic photos, filled with natural elements and a lot of laughter. The couple also recommended a golden look and feel to the photos. For a golden look, I had to gather burnt wooden logs and other elements to complement the golden colours.
Leandra and Jaques knew and dated one another for 9-12 years. What is so special about their relationship is the fact that they were part of each other’s development in their early adulthood. Jaques and Leandra walked a long journey together and took part of some most special moments in one another’s life.
The bride and bridegroom got ready at Arum Lily in beautiful log cabins, at the foot of Mostertshoek Mountain, which made the shoot spectacular. Jaques and his groomsmen smoked cigars and drank whiskey, enjoying conversations and just living in the moment. When I arrived at the bride’s cabin, one of the bridesmaids’ boyfriend came to surprise Leandra with a song, just to light the room up.
The TV Show Wedding was based at Olive Rock which is situated in the Witzenberg Valley. The wedding venue is very popular for its mountain view. The beautiful scenic surroundings all played a big role in the romantic atmosphere of the day. It was a perfect day with the sun shining just as beautiful as the couple’s love. This TV Show Wedding was very lively because of the filming crew moving between the crowds of people.
Something that really stood out for me at the wedding ceremony was that the couple focused so much on the love they share that it was as if there were no cameras facing their way. This made the photos so real and intimate and it left me breathless.
Leandra suggested that the golden hour photos should be taken at a beautiful tree. We found a tree with many characteristics to it and it helped a lot with the sun. The photos came out so natural and simplistic with a lot of laughter and passionate emotions shared between the newlywed couple.
As we moved over to the wedding reception, the guests all gave a hand to Leandra and Jaques on their big day. The speeches were so sentimental and touching, especially Jaques’ speech to Leandra. It was so exceptionally special, for he stood next to his bride and gave the speech looking deeply into her eyes.
I want to personally thank Leandra and Jaques for showing so many people what true love really is.
